H23 blue top vtec head question

Before I buy this H23 blue top vtec head I'd like to know how much work will go into installing it..
The guy told me I just have to feed an oil line from the head to the block. Is that really all?

Re: H23 blue top vtec head question

No, there is also a wire to run to the vtec solenoid, and an ecu to consider, I have a p13, you might too.. There are too many write ups on it for me to recommend any certain one. Google is tru frend , but ya, there is more to it than just oil, which sounds crazy in itself ! the oil passage is inside the block if im not mistaken and goes straight up thru between the dizzy and the coil to oL mr VTEC solenoid, but he likes his sleep, so be gentle..

Wait a minute, waht block do u have ? Does the h23 block not have the hole in it that feeds the head ?

This is what matters the most from that post i guess..
I have an h23 vtec blue top head on a h23a block. The difference from the frankenstein swap and the actual oem h23 vtec motors is the frankenstein will make a good 20-30 more whp just cuz frankie swaps naturally do. you will need an h22 waterpump, timing belt, intake manifold, headers, crank gear and head gasket. You can chip the p14 ecu or use a p13 like i do. Either works fine. Btw a stock frankenstein setup with i/h/e, a stage 2 clutch, h22 tranny and a half decent tune will rape k swaps all day.
