Icon5 H23A1 repair or F22B Swap?

Ok so i want to get rid of my H23A1 for an F22B DOHC, because im tired of repairing the H23A1, crankshaft, pully, cylinder heads, pulley, and other misc stuff, so i want to know, should i repair the H23A1 or get Another H23A1, or just swap in an F22B and Frankenstein it with the H23A1 head and cams? Ideas? Thoughts?

There is more power and torque out of a H23a1 over the F22B.

Just either get a low mileage JDM H23a cause it will swap right in.

Or if you are read and can afford it, get the H22 or H23vtec(BlueTop)

Re: H23A1 repair or F22B Swap?

Im about to go the same route..H23/h22 are out of my price range or not available. I don't really mess with too many engine swaps, but I have a 93 Si, with a cracked block and bent valves(long story). I bought it thinking it was a easy head gasket, but block under head was cracked and the title has loan issues.
F22b1(single cam vtec)..was thinking about picking one up at the junk yard. Will this slap right in? What other components will I need? My budget is like 200 bucks since I lost my job, or else this Prelude will have to be sold for dirt cheap. It took me a year to find one in my range, and has been sitting in my backyard for 2 years. This is the best driving honda I ever drove. 120 in heavy pouring rain with 3 passengers. That really impressed me greatly. I have mostly messed with civic swaps/body work. But preludes are harder to come by, so most people take care of them and really aren't too many out there for grabs.
Honest replies from serious engineers please. I'm new on here, and the city is on my ass for parking it so long. Thanks, and I know I'm in the wrong section.

Re: H23A1 repair or F22B Swap?

Ok so i have been going through various sites and found H23A(3) and just engines titled as H23 non-vtec, and found some H23 Vtec engines, so my questions are:

is the H23A3 the same as the H23A1?
If i want to get the Vtec H23A, what would i need? or am i better off without the vtec?

Thanks~

The H23a3 is the OBDII non vtec motor, I found that out by accident when I was pulling parts from one in the junkyard.

So i want to tune this car, i should stay with obd1, right? should i continue looking for another h23a1, or just go h22a vtec obd1? i found a kit for about 2k that comes with tranny and ecu, dont know if the ecu is custom or not, but that can be changed at a later point. Is it worth it? i mean i have put in 1k already into the H23a1, i just dont know what is wrong with it anymore. i think, that when the pulley came out while i was driving, a piston, or valve got dammaged, or what my friend said, the oil pump shaft is bent. so i dont know if to reopen the engine or get another engine then take a look later. I just dont want the prelude to be sitting there, it breaks my heart.
