grinding 5th gear

hi, does anyone know why my 4th gen grinds when i shift into 5th gear? it grinds when over 2000rpm. thanks.

Typical Honda thing for these cars. hows fourth gear and reverse do?

all gears are ok apart from second which is sometimes tricky to get into when the engine is cold.

Yeah that just sounds like the typical honda transmissions issues. Just double check your clutch reservoir is full and your clutch is grabbing right.

Mine did the same thing. 5th n reverse. I changed my clutch works perfect..

I expirience the same problem on occasion...3rd and 5th give me grinding issues, I changed my trans fluid and filter and it seemed to help a ton.

has to do with the gear syncros. read something about this...i'll dig up the thread.

mine only grinds when I skip 4th gear and go right to 5th and sometimes it doesn't fully go in reverse and I hear an awful grinding noise that sounds like thunder almost.
