Coolant Leak?

My radiator fan had stopped working and caused radiator fluid to go everywhere. I got the fan working again, filled up the radiator with fluid and had no leaks... so then I started it up. I noticed I was leaking massive amounts of liquid next to my control arm. What is leaking and how can I fix it?

Can't tell the orientation of your pictures, but if it's down low, check the water pump.

Re: Coolant Leak?

I see a CV axle in there. That's your transmission, but that doesn't mean that's where the fluid is coming from. You gotta try to find the highest point of the leak.

Unless it IS in fact tranny fluid. What you have circled is the transmission drain plug. Is it loose?

Re: Coolant Leak?

What I usually have to do is go to the car wash and high pressure wash my engine bay top and bottom, wait awhile for it to dry, then take it back out and drive for a minute to try to see where the leak is originating from.

Not the water pump, it's leaking all over my tranny.

Re: Coolant Leak?

There's so many coolant lines everywhere in front of and in back of the motor, on the passenger side too. You're gonna have to just put some water in it, run the car, and stand in front of it with goggles for safety and try to see where it's leaking or dripping from. Best case scenario, your bleeder valve is a little loose.. Just do your best to clean it up and check the hoses, temp sensors, and that valve for looseness.

Thank you for the suggestion. I don't know what hoses are all in correlation with radiator fluid though, is there a way I can find out?

Re: Coolant Leak?

check the hard line under the intake.... culprit 9 out of 10 times from improper installation. you have to get new seals for it whenever it comes out or head work is done, but could be from a number of issues.

Re: Coolant Leak?

Found the leak! It's a tube right below my distributor that connects directly to the engine. It's leaking right where it connects to the engine. Is there supposed to be a clamp on it? Because mine has no clamp.
