My H23a1 Build Slowly but Surely

Ever since I was 10 or 11 I've wanted a Prelude and now I'm 21. First car I bought? a 1995 Prelude Si. It is my everyday car, and slowly but surely project car.

A little History::

-It had 107,xxx Miles on it when I bought it
-My engine is an H23a1

My Build
I will explain the pics as I go

ORIGINAL FRONT (NO MODS YET)

THE BACK, I INSTALLED AFTERMARKET TAILLIGHTS OTHER THAN THAT, EVERYTHING CAME AS IS

I KNOW IT'S DIRTY IN THIS PIC, BUT REST ASSURED I AM IN THE PROCESS OF CLEANING IT UP, REPLACING RUSTY PARTS ETC. ANYWAY UNDER THE HOOD***I ALSO KNOW I HAVE TO WIRE MY POWER WIRE THROUGH THE FIREWALL, CURRENTLY CANT DO IT BECAUSE I CANT UNPLUG MY BATTERY WITH THIS BREATHALIZER I HAVE

I ORIGINALLY LEANED TOWARDS A BODY KIT, THESE ARE THE PICS WHEN THE FRONT WAS INSTALLED, BUT NOT DEALING WITH THE KITS ANYMORE THEY BREAK EASY AND DONT FIT PERFECT

THESE ARE MY HALO PROJECTER HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT, HALOS ON ONLY

BACK TO OEM FRONT BUMPER UNSURE OF LIP, HALO HL AND BLACKHOUSED CORNERS AND BUMPER LIGHTS, ALSO CHEAP PILOT FOGLIGHTS FOR NOW

PICTURE IN THE DARK, FOGS AND HALOS ON

JUST THREW ON A NEW VALVE COVER I GOT WITH MY LUDE WHEN I BOUGHT IT, MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE UNDER THE HOOD

I ripped my trunk apart to lay some dynomat throughout my trunk and found some rust... so I wire brushed, sanded, and then sprayed it with rust reformer, primer, and black paint. heres the before and after

BEFORE

AFTER

Due to someone badly wiring my foglights... a shop that did them for free while fixing up my front bumper also badly, after installing the aftermarket bumper..... (BADLY)... almost caused a fire the other day, melted my switch, found no fuse in the fuse holder..... so I rewired them today myself, if you want something done right do it yourself. Also figured I would rewire my power wire for my amp, got the new headers in there also, but will take more detailed photos in a few days once I clean my engine bay. But yea, NEVER go to Knoblocks for body work if you live in central jersey, that is in south river, NEVER GO THERE!!!

I will update anytime I do something else, let me know your input

Dynamatted my trunk floor, still need to do the walls and the ceiling right next to the seats where the speakers are, already did my trunk lid about 5 months ago or so.

Nice, glad you got the car you've always wanted! I don't have a Prelude currently but I have owned a 90 and 93 Prelude. Now I'm on the verge of buying a 93 4ws Lude. But good job on your project! The pics are awesome man.

Re: My H23a1 Build Slowly but Surely

So I ripped my car apart today to take the headlight out to dry out the condinsation and reseal it...

But then I found the problem once I was about to finish taking off my reinforcement bar, THE CAP ON THE BACK OF MY HEADLIGHT WASNT ON.... it was hanging in the wires lol.

So then I dried out my headlight with a hair dryer, took about 3 hours lol

But it wasn't all to waste taking my bumper and fender off, cause one of my foglights were loose, and I have been putting off the cruise control delete for awhile, so I decided to do those today.

and heres my engine bay, dirty but its getting there.

Re: My H23a1 Build Slowly but Surely

looking good bro. exact same model i have. except ive got a bit more work ahead of me. working on rebuilding the motor right now, gonna wire tuck while its out, did the cruise control delete, then once its back in i'll start working on the body. my desire is to sandblast the whole thing because almost the entire left rear quarter panel is bondo. wanna remove the paint to see how much and if the bondo has made it wider than its supposed to be. also my trunk is actually separating from the rear of the car. where it has that liquid weld/glue stuff to seal it. so my trunk has a bit more work than yours. i'd love to compare when we're both finished

Pretty cool. I kind of want to get some to match the gauges color. The teal(ish) color.. But I also want to keep it as factory as possible interior wise. Be cool of yours went with music.

Re: My H23a1 Build Slowly but Surely

I found a 96 parts car for my 92 prelude at a salvage yard 10 mins away from my house. And luckily the car is in the " pull your own parts" lot. And that lowers the price greatly. I got both tail lights, rear bumper, hood, trunk lid, and some small stuff like screws and stuff for free but all that for under 150.. They love me cause I've got that car almost stripped..I've taken what I listed before as well as h23a1 which I got complete pull out for $107.00... Yep 100 dollars.. Front bumper, I took the el cluster, some interior pieces like the shift boot.. I haven't spent over 350 for it all.. Im glad I found it before anyone else.. They want 45 for both front seats with rails. My seats are good but does anyone need front seats? Haha I'm looking for a 5g sunroof though..

Where did you mount your driver side LED tube? I have legit neons from StreetGlow that a buddy gave me and the only place I could find to mount it was so far forward, you can see it from the back seat.
