Icon5 tires keep going flat

Hi, my 93' Prelude's right side(passenger) front and rear tires keeps on going flat, even after i inflate them; car hasn't been driven and parked for 4 months now The tires are 4 Goodyear Nordic Winter Tires(M+S) Size: P195/60/R15 I have no idea why it keeps on going flat.. checked for holes/cuts but couldn't find any.. Can anyone explain this? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Re: tires keep going flat

could be leaking from the valve stem, it happened to me when i got my tires on only difference is the air was leaking out slowly and would be flat in 24 hours

Re: tires keep going flat

Ah, well it sucks that all 4 of them are going flat..They can be leaking from the bead as well, which really sucks. Bring them to a tire shop and have them look for the leaks. If you wanna try yourself get a big container and fill it with water, then dunk the wheels in the water and watch for air bubbles.

Thanks for the advice, ill take it to a tire shop to get it checked out when i get my car fixed, but im gonna need summer tires anyways; bought the prelude with 4 Goodyear Nordic Winter Tires, the strange part is that its only the 2 right(passenger) front and right tires that keep going flat, not all 4 which imo I found wierd...

Re: tires keep going flat

Yea man, good move. Honestly anything can happen with tires. I work at STS Tire and trust me I have seen some weird things happen with tires. One of the funniest things was when I pulled a main journal bearing out of a tire lol.

thanks for the advice, could you give an estimate for how much it would cost to get 2 tires fixed? still learning about parts, whats a "main journal bearing"? lol... thanks again

Re: tires keep going flat

Discount tire will do it for free anywhere else would be 15-25 bucks per tire

Re: tires keep going flat

Probably corrosion on the rim that causes it to leak from the bead. And when you let tires sit it speeds up the corrosion especially if you live in the north where there is a lot of road salt.

Re: tires keep going flat

chalk the rim or use bead sealer. and discount tire will clean it up for free. its gonna come back though some day. but if your tire is really old or you have a cracked rim your out of luck. just gonna have to buy some wheels lol

Generally, a tire repair would be anywhere from like 15-25 like everyone else said. If you buy the tires from the shop you go to they will usually fix them for free. And I was wrong it was not a main journal bearing (which is a bearing that sits on the main journal cap that the crank rotates on) it was a bearing race from a wheel bearing.

Re: tires keep going flat

I'd just get falken 512's they are cheap and will last you maybe three summers if you use winter tires still. But if you use them year round they wint last to long. just look for a cheap all season tire like a Yokohama or Falken 912

Re: tires keep going flat

No as long as there not studed. you should buy new tires bc the winter ones are heavy and give you worse mpg. And offer less sport ability. Then by next winter when you'll need them again thell be to worn to be useful

yeah , the tires look like they have uneven wear which means the previous owner inflated the tires too much/little , or maybe because they drove it in summer with winter tires on....
