h23 engine studder

i have a 96 prelude si 5 speed and when accelerating, the RPMs will kind of studder, or hesistate. it only happens between 2-3k RPMs. does anybody have an idea what this could be? or if its a sign of a bad engine?

Re: h23 engine studder

just look for rips, tears or holes, or it could be that one is just off, just look for a diagram for your vacuum hoses and go through them checking them out

Re: h23 engine studder

I have kinda the same issue too but after that the car takes off just fine. but the problem with mines is it only happens sometimes. it could most likely be a vacuum or just the timing is a little off.

Re: h23 engine studder

once i get past 3k RPMs its as smooth as can be until about 6K where the power seems to die off. and yes it only happens sometime. someone told me that you need special spark plugs for my engine and i just installed normal NGK platinums and racing Spark wires. could that be the issue?

Re: h23 engine studder

Yea it could be that you bought bad wires or plugs, i would try taking them back and getting deffirent ones, its most likely your wires tho

Re: h23 engine studder

just had the same problem and it ended up being a simple problem of a bad spark plug wire lol
