temperature problem

alright, i know there are a bunch of temperature threads out there but i cant seem to find the exact conditions i have. jdm dohc f22b. occasionally while driving (recently, never had this problem before) my temp will raise one bar past halfway, normally if im driving in 5th gear maintaining a constant speed and rpm (around 2k) if i kick the heat on or put the car in neutral it will go back down within a minute or so. doesnt seem to be raising up any higher, not overheating but it is going up past halfway. my top radiator hose is hot as usual but the bottom is cold, i know it should be cooler but it seems almost un-phased but any coolant flow, i figure it should be at least warm, not ice cold. radiator fans are not kicking on, mind you its winter here in pa and hasnt been super warm so im guessing thats why. could this be a thermostat issue? clogged radiator? not sure whats going on here, let me know. thanks

Re: temperature problem

on your motor the part that your lower hose goes to. there is a housing that holds the t stat in place. you have to take that housing off

Re: temperature problem

It's a messy job but best if you take the whole housing off that way the thermostat sits properly

An yes f22b an h23 have are the same thermostat

Re: temperature problem

its under the hood. Just drain the coolant and make sure when you put everything back together, properly bleed the system or your gonna overheat and have an ugly idle
