Icon2 will brake bulb light up if use LED reverse light?

Most percent I drive in night time so thats why I am in market for a set and always parked back up my lude into the driveway but the problem is that my ****ty reverse lights doesn't light up really well that give me some blind so I had to look thru driver side mirror so I wonder if I put reverse led 6k light on my taillight, will my brake light go on inside the fuel/gas cluster? The reason why I asked is because the few days after I bought my lude in April of 2011, the brake light on all the time. I was like wtf so I took out all lights off taillight to be sure if they work. All work. Still brake light on. I researched on internet and found out that led lights (for brake) that cause the brake light go on due to its low volt that making my brake system thinking its ****ed so brake light on, you know? I replaced the led lights to regular bulb, so finally brake light went off, so now wonder if it'll be happen if i put reverse led lights? Thanks luders!

Alex

It very well might do that, and the low voltage/current theory holds some weight, but if you really want to do this then just open up the console and take out the cluster bulb.

Or install some super bright license plate l.e.d.'s.

I dont think so. Because my friend has them in his civic (EK9) as reverse lights. I also had them in my old DA9 with no issue. I'm gonna be taking mine out my signal lights to put into my cousins car (2010 Civic) as reverse lights and see if anything happens.

I've got led reverse lights, they're okay, but i'm looking into HID reverse lights, lol. They have little ballast that mount in the trunk, and they will freakin blind anyone behind you when you back up. I want to be able to see everything for 5 miles when I back up.

Re: will brake bulb light up if use LED reverse light?

that OP made my brain hurt. Slow down and think about what you are posting... and PLEASE use proper grammar; punctuation would be a good start.

Now, with that out of the way; putting L.E.D's in your reverse lights will have no negative effect on anything that your ECU cares about. When you place your car in reverse B+ voltage is sent to the reverse light bulb. Simple. Done.

The Brake Lights are a different story. The reason the Brake Warning Light comes on is because the ECU does not see the same load, read: resistance, that an incandescent bulb presents. The easy fix to this is to place a resistor in-line with each brake lamp. That way the ECU "see's" the same resistance as if a regular bulb were in the socket. Problem solved.
