Re: stage 2

Yes, upgrade springs and retainers if you're going stage 2. Stage 1 you can get away with it.

Re: stage 2

I didn't even think about changing the camshafts without the valve+retainers upgrade and I got the stage 1 Skunk2 tuner cams.

Re: stage 2

ok thats cool my main issue was to change the springs without removing the head, was told to put each piston up to do this so the valve wouldnt drop out , does this sound right, and how hard would it be to retime

Re: stage 2

Set the engine by hand to top dead center, there are markers on the head and cam gears to match up. Take a photo of the cam key positions to get a better idea how the new cams should look. The springs/ valves, just use fishing line around the valve stem notch to keep it from dropping. Do you have a valve spring compressor?

Actually, if you're asking these questions, you should take it somewhere professional.

Re: stage 2

ok ,like the other person said .don't cheap out on parts , always try to do complete upgrade .They have a tool kit for holding up the valves in place while removing retainers and springs, the tool is used with an air compressor.
