How do I know if I have an h22a or h22a type s? My intake has been changed . I spent an hour searching. I hate searching! One of you guys should charge 1$ a question. I would pay. No joke.

You mean LSD, right? Both systems are in the tranny, not the engine, so that doesn't even apply.

Nope. First, he's talking about a 4th gen, which never came in Type SH. Second, he's asking for indicators of a Type S h22a as compared to a normal h22a.

Cold air Intake makes not a Type S build.

Let me google that for you

H22

The H22 debuted in the U.S. in 1993 as the H22A1 for use in the Honda Prelude VTEC. Since then, versions of the H22 would become the Prelude's signature high-performance engine worldwide until the end of Prelude production in 2001. Variations were also used in a few Accords in Japan and Europe. In 1994, Honda of Europe used the H22A cylinder head and the H22A engine block as Formula 3 engine which was destroke H22A engine from 2.2 liters to 2.0 liters(F3-2000cc)to compete in the European F3 series then it was used by Mugen Motorsports as F20B from 1997-2001. In 1995-1997,Honda of Europe used the same H22A based F3 engine in the British Touring Car Championship(BTCC)Honda Accord. Also,in 1996-1997 Honda of Japan used the same H22A based F3 engine in the Japan Touring Car Championship(JTCC)Honda Accord and won the JTCC for both years. Honda of Europe hired Neil Brown Engineering of England to convert the H22A engine to F3 engine which would be later used in BTCC and JTCC. (Super Touring)

HE could just read the block. for the engine code. the vin on the block would also give this information. As far as the transmission??? Don't they come Badged too? It's the limited Slip vs ATTS that's complicated!

/)(\ Accepted! Thought her name is Ditzy-Doo! Derpy hooves works too!
I dunno. If it has a JDM VIN, I would imagine it would be hard to trace here in the states.

And the name has been a topic of debate for a long time. Fans know her as Derpy. Once in the show the Ditzy name had been mentioned, but not directly towards her. However, those involved with the making of the show have used the Derpy name in twitter and facebook posts. I think it's Ditzy, from an official standpoint though.

Re: How do I know?

TRU TRU, but then at least you have an idea of having a special car right? Why OP not contributing, I'm invested now, I wanna know what kind of engine and transmission he has.

Also I only Found out about Derpy/Ditzy through you tube, I don't have HUB on my cable package. Also I like Fluttershy... "you will love me, or squee" or breaking a bears neck... epic.

Re: How do I know?

I don't have Hub either, I just watch streams or fly my jolly roger and pirate that sh*t. I would do the legit thing and buy the episodes, but they're only available on iTunes, and I refuse to support Apple.

Re: How do I know?

The simple way to find out if its a Type-S H22a is to measure the throttle body. The Type-S, S-SPEC, and H22a8 VTi have 62mm TB's while regular H22's have 60mm ;)

because the 5th gen type s block w/ atts is the same as the usdm SH block. they are both different from the usdm block and the sir block. you can mount a regular or lsd tranny, but you need a block off plate on the block.
