oil plug, oil filter size

What's the size of the oil plug and oil filter (want to buy tools to remove the filter easily) on a 1995 Prelude VTEC (H22A1)?

Thanks

Re: oil plug, oil filter size

Searching is your best friend

List: Oil Drain Plug - 1995 Honda Prelude | O'Reilly Auto Parts

Drain plug needs to be torque to 45N-m or 33 lb-ft

Filter can be removed with ur hands. When placing the filter tighten until the rubber seal is seated then tighten 7/8 of a turn.

I recommend u download the service manual: 4th gen 92-96 Service Manual

Good luck there is plenty of help on the forum but you gotta try and help urself!

Re: oil plug, oil filter size

lol, i tried searching on google but I was getting different sizes. 1 store showed me 17mm and a couple 14mm.
I tried searching for it here but I didn't see anything, lol. I saw bunch of other things when I searched for "oil plug" like engine build. I only searched on 4th gen Prelude though. I'll try it on the whole forum next time and read more threads.
I'll try search for more next time I have questions.
Thanks for the help. I'll use the search more often

Re: oil plug, oil filter size

if you have trouble finding engine parts like that for your chassis, look up the 5th gen parts. they share the same engine. also, if you're redoing anything suspension related, the 4th and 5th gen suspensions are interchangable (except the SH trim)

The factory drain plug is a 17mm. As for the oil filter, most shops over tighten them so they can't be removed just by hand. Get a pair of these Buy Performance Tools Small Oil Filter Pliers W54310 at Advance Auto Parts
