ABS Question

OK so I really want to get rid of my ABS. The one problem I have is when I slam on my brakes now my tires lock up real easy so you could imagine driving in the rain. What I am wanting to know is what parts do I need to replace to remove it and is it my abs not working causing my tires to lock up or bad brakes?

Re: ABS Question

1) Why do you want to get rid of the ABS?

2) If you're locking up under braking, it's because the ABS isn't working. Sounds like the brakes work just fine.

Re: ABS Question

I wanted to get rid of it to clean up the engine bay, If I could get it to work I may keep it. Ya the light is on, I thought it was cuz of the bad brake master cylinder but nope.

Maybe first just sit down, do some research and find out exactly what you want for your car.

The part of your post that I quoted shows alot of indecision and confusion on what you really want to do...

A car without working ABS should be able to lock up the brakes.

Pulling the code would help. Most of the time, it's because one of the wheel sensors has failed; that's a fairly cheap fix.

Re: ABS Question

mine never locks up... unless i REALLY get on the brakes, but i also try to downshift for more grip.. u can stop pretty fuggin hard without skiddin, as long as u apply nice gradual pressure on your brake pedal..
btw: my abs doesnt work, never has, and will get thrown, or sold to someone here

That's how it should work. OP didn't post much detail about his problem so it's difficult to speculate what's going on with his car.

Again this part of your post shows that you may not know what you want.

hahaha this is the most vague thing I have ever heard.

I am trying to help you buddy. Not trying to hurt. If you decide to get rid of it PM me and I can help tell you what you will need. Just the jist of it all will be a new proportioning valve from a non-abs honda, all new ran brake lines, fittings, etc etc.
