kongee is on a distinguished road
questions on VTEC...

hi.

This is the first honda with vtec i have so please dont mind my questions.

i recently bought a 93 sr with a h22a swap. it has a p29 ecu with chrome programming.

when i go over 5500rpm, i feel power but my friend test drove it and said that it doesnt have the kick when vtec kicks in. he also said that there aint that sound when vtec kicks in.

my cluster is from a sr so redline is at 6200. The redline right now should be 7200 right?

how do u know when vtec kicks in??

when does vtec kick in? 4200 or 5500 rpm?

what do u guys recommend?

i was thinking of going to a place to get it tuned and dyno. i asked today and the person told me 350cdn. is that reasonable?

I believe 5500 rpm is when the vtec starts and ends at 7400 i believe...

Listen at 39 seconds...that's the vtec changeover. Furthermore, if you are tuned on CROME, whomever tuned your car could've set the redline a bit farther and added more goodies into the MAP tuning...

I say, find a Crome tuner and see what the previous owner did.
