Condenser fan rattling

For the past few months, I've noticed a strong rattling coming from my engine whenever I'm running the air conditioner. As soon as I turn off the A/C the rattling goes away, and I've watched the condenser fan at idle as it rattles when the fan is running and then stops when the fan cuts off. I'm pretty sure that's my problem.

My question is, does anyone know what causes this, and if it can be fixed? I would rather try to fix it than spend the 50 bucks its going to cost me to get a new one, so any help would be awesome.

Thanks everybody.

Re: Condenser fan rattling

Check the screws holding the whole assembly to the radiator. If they're not loose, then it's probably the fan bearing, in which case just get a new fan and bolt it on.

Re: Condenser fan rattling

Well I actually just unplugged the fan entirely, which isn't the smartest move but temperature wise I really don't need it, my engine isn't even getting to the middle of the temp gauge(which is a different problem in itself). But I'm watching the temperature until I can replace it.

Re: Condenser fan rattling

If you're not using the air con, it doesn't matter...during regular operation, there's only one fan that comes on.
