What is right for F22B?

Well i serviced the prelude the other day and i changed the oil and changed the oil filter, however i still havnt been able to change the spark plugs yet as im not sure what model spark plug i must get.

The service shop where i got all the parts from only have the F22A on their system and they gave me these spark plugs to put in: NGK ZFR6F-11.

However when i took out the spark plugs that were already in the engine they were: NGK BCP6ES.

So now im really confused, i left the original spark plugs in worrying that the shop gave me the wrong ones.

Please can someone tell me what spark plugs i must get and if i will need to change the plug gap as i do have a feeler gauge, thanks!

Re: What is right for F22B?

That's because they are the wrong plugs.

You need h23 plugs from the 2.3 prelude

You got f22a plugs for a single when f22b is a Jdm motor very similar to the h23.

Re: What is right for F22B?

Hi Abel, thanks for the info, i looked in the service manual now i have on computer and it shows that the F22A and H23A use the same spark plugs just in a different heat range:

Is there no member on this forum with an F22B that can just give me the model number of NGK plug? I dont understand why no one has been able to just tell me which spark plug to get.

single or twin cam? If twin, the head is the same as the H23A1. You'll probably be running a stock dizzy too. I'd just get SI H23 plugs.

Re: What is right for F22B?

Hi 260zshooter, yip im referring to the F22B thats twin cam and the engine is completely stock standard, so according to the above extract from the service manual it says there that the H23A1 should take: "NGK ZFR6F-11"

and that is what i bought from the service shop, so is that what i must use then?

See Below:

and should i then gap it to 1.0mm?

Re: What is right for F22B?

f22b jdm=h23a1 usdm...plain and simple...every thing from f22b should work with h23.. exept HG! am currently running f22b head on f22a1 block with h23 plugs and it works good

Re: What is right for F22B?

ok awsome thanks guys, il pop in the NGK ZFR6F-11 today, i see the manual says 1mm-1.1mm gap, so i just checked the plug anyways and it is pre-gapped to 1mm so il fit them just now.

Thanks all for the help, i like to be sure im putting the right thing in before i do it :)
