Icon5 strange popping noise

I have a 92 prelude and when i rev the engine and let come back to idle, it pops, I hear this noise like its from the cylinders, spark plugs wires or the actual spark plugs.

Re: strange popping noise

A little backfire when you let off the gas? If it's loud, it's probably a rich mixture cooking off in the cat. If it's just a burble, it's normal.

^ could also be a sign of a exhaust leak.. if you have a leak and it sucks in cold air it will backfire as you let off of it

Re: strange popping noise

I've actually having the same issue.. Happens most of all when coming down off highway speeds in top gear and just letting it coast to city speeds. And it's loud. lol.

Any way to stop this from happening? I know I have a leak at my header at the bottom from banging it into things.

Seal up the leak. That's about the only way to eliminate it.
