Re: h23 cam gears

do you talk about adjustable cam gears?
then you would need to take it to dyno and adjust them there, it could improve your car little bit but not much

Re: h23 cam gears

if you want more horsies start with an intake.short ram or cold air intake with a K&N filter...next exhaust... headers ( dc sports, hytech replica, megan, etc) 3" piping and some good muffler, than move up from there

Re: h23 cam gears

No. Cam gears won't do ****. They're designed for highly modified cars that need to change timing on the fly. See: Test & Tune.

Re: h23 cam gears

^ some people say that you can get small improvements with them even with stock cams. but if youre running completely stock car otherwise... dont really think it would do any good if you dont have any other mods

Re: h23 cam gears

i've got sport air filter, and straight piping(not brand) but there's not much changes, so i thought maybe adjustable cam gears would give more power, but now i see, that i was wrong, thanks all!!! And merry christmas for all :)

Re: h23 cam gears

Get some H23 camshafts. Chipped ECU. I have some difficulties finding parts for my H23a. NON VTEC. Why is it so hard to find frikken parts. Yet Vtec has a ton of parts.
All I want to do is make my motor run 300 HP, with a turbo

Re: h23 cam gears

To see the full potential, you need to upgrade to a set of high lift cam(s), thats when those adjustable cam gears comes into play. Othewise, it's totally pointless and a waste of time. It's not gonna give you 10hp to the wheel by dropping in a adjustable cam gear alone.

Project Car Magazine installed a AEM cam gear on their D16Z6 SOHC VTEC and made like 3whp by advancing the timing on the cam gear. It all depend on what dyno you're on, altitude, engine's health, etc.

Good Luck!
