my car won't start

Hey, I replaced my starter recently with a remanufactured one and it started just fine. My battery was at 94% charge on two diff tests about a week apart.

So when I first went to start it in the morning the dash lights were dim and it cranked over very slow. NA....NA...NA...NA (what it sounded like)
it finally started up after about 5 seconds of that.

I drove it to the gym, got on the pedal a bit and parked then turned it off. Immediately tried to start her up and she did just fine. After the gym, just fine again. (1 hour gym time).

After work (6 hours parked) She is doing the same thing but won't start this time.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Re: my car won't start

check your battery right after it doesn't want to start

Re: my car won't start

you have a drain on the sytem..... i really have NO idea of where to start, it could be anything.

back in 99 when had my civic, the same thing happened and after getting fusterated, i took it to the dealership where they found out it was the rear defroster which was consistantly draining the batter while the car was off. It cost $380, mostly for time in troubleshooting it.

Good luck sir

Re: my car won't start

I took it to a family trusted mechanic and he tested my alt and it was at exactly 14 (amps/volts?)

He said to replace my battery cuz he was sure thats my problem. He had a feeling as soon as he saw the corrosion and battery acid all over my batter and wired.

Got myself a Bosch 800 CCA with 8 year warranty for $100 :)
Car is doing okay...so far.
