Re: best mods for h22?

I guess the only thing would be exhaust. Anything else that adds gains is cracking the block open, tuning, or turbo. But usually turbo means cracking the block open on an h22 anyways.

search is ur FRIEND!

but heres my 2cents
if its an auto
save up an do a 5speed swap

if its already a 5speed
1) suspension
2) I/H/E
3) clutch and flywheel
4) electrical like stereo
5) wash an wax

remember u gotta spend money to make any kind of real power
an brands that work good on civics and integra's dont work as well on ludes
ie: dc header

ps:

SEARCH is ur friend!

Intake/header/exhaust

You won't make much power unless you spend good money on it. If I had the money I would start by building the head.

Re: best mods for h22?

I'll tell you this right now:

-2.5" Hi-Flow cat + 2.5" exhaust piping + free flowing muffler such as SP2, etc
-3" intake piping with quality air filter(AEM filter, K&N filter, Fujita filter, etc)
-Hytech Replica Header(I made 13whp on mine).
-Chipped ECU with a good dyno&tune session(tuning makes a whole lot difference power wise).

If you want more, you can always do cams. I have Skunk2 cams and made great power on the street. Look at my sig.

Re: best mods for h22?

"without spending too much" is way to vague, I'mma take it as what I listed is somewhat cheap; not too expensive IMO. Now building the head up is expensive, but what I listed is somewhat affordable if you save.

IMO car building is pretty expensive, when you have to think whole picture and change almost everything to get gains

Exactly.

So not knowing how much the OP has to spend, it's hard to say. I'm just throwing out what makes decent power from my experience. Gotta pay to play.

Agreed. Don't settle for cheap parts just wait a extra week or so saving and get quality parts. That's just my 2 cents.

Yup. When I had my Egay stainless steel header, I put out 187whp on a dynojet. It was that restricted. Then after I got my Hytech replica header installed, I finally reached my 200whp mark.

lol nuss.... hands down hytech replica header FTW...

but aside from that, I'd would say get a aftermarket Final Drive something like 4.9 and that will sure change the personality of the car.
