Front end vibration at certain speeds...

I have gone through the search tool and found similar issues but none really the same to mine.

between 30-60km/h the car seems to have a front end vibration when accelerating and then it goes away.

Axles are good, rims are good, no tranny oil leaking, ball joints are good as well as the tie-rods......Any ideas?

appreciate all responses!

Re: Front end vibration at certain speeds...

Could be an out-of-balance wheel -- you said the rims are good, but I assume that means "not bent". Could be a slipped belt in the tire itself, too -- look for bulges or strange wear. Last, it could be the beginning of a bad wheel bearing...if it gets worse and you don't see signs of a slipped belt in the tire, that becomes most likely.

ALL the reasons WHY your wheels vibrate...

Special thanks to HondaVerno! Didn't know anything about hubcentric rings until I read this and found out my rims were missing them and when I brought some and put them on.. vibration gone. I love you man, no homo :)

Re: Front end vibration at certain speeds...

Mine does the same right now from 65-70mph. It would go away and comes back intermittenly or whenever it wants too. Shakes when I'm in Neutral or on the gas; don't matter. Balanced all my wheels and still there, rode on my stock EX wheels and still there, everything's tight with no play, no wheel bearing play, both axles are good, and can't find a damn thing. I am too at a lost, but I will rebalance my wheels when Springs here.

I'm thinking it's my balancer shafts, because one time I half ass on my timing marks when I had to get it done before my shop closes, and did what I can to get it back on due to the manual tensioner conversion being so f*cking tight. The rear balancer pulley was off by a tooth and damn, after I got done with it, my car vibrates like no other, so I knew right then that this vibration I have is definitely related to m balancer shafts. But, I did got it to go away completely one time and rode just like a brand new car when I re-did my timing. But it was still off like a tooth or so then I re-did the timing again from scratch and got it dead on like it should and thats when the vibration comes back.

Re: Front end vibration at certain speeds...

I actually noticed it looks like someone tried to slash the sidewall on the front right tire. huge gash in it, but not leaking air...hopefully new tires is the fix.......HOPEFULLY!
Im surprised i overlooked this prior to buying the car last week. i drove her home, 4 hours on the highway at 110-130km/h like that i guess :S

Re: Front end vibration at certain speeds...

mine did the same thing and I balanced my tires at work on an audi machine and that solved the problem.

Re: Front end vibration at certain speeds...

if ur getting bad vibes at 30 it the tire is either really out of balance or could be separated.

Re: Front end vibration at certain speeds...

Mine was a combination of wheels off balance, ****ty tires, and warped rotors.
