Re: cams making noise

check the oil and adjust the valves. Pointless to remove the cam and it not even the problem.

Re: cams making noise

I have never heard of cams making noise, but definitely valves tapping. Save yourself some trouble and forget about the cams and get a valve adjustment, it should fix your problem.

Re: cams making noise

It's gotta be the valve lash. The cams don't make noise unless it's a high lift cams where it'll tap loud like mines. :D

The OEM spec for the F22Ax's are 0.10" intake side and 0.12" for exhaust side. Good Luck!

Re: cams making noise

Fuel injectors maybe ? I swear mine click like crazy. I'm tempted to think its the valves, cause it only starts happening when the car is halfway warmed up.

It'll still tick somewhat after the valve adjustment if you have a high mileage engine.

Re: cams making noise

i have been doing research and been reading that the a1 and a6 are the same head, the a6 just has more aggresive cams and stiffer springs and a better ecu for better fuel mapping and to add th h23 intake minifold
im gonna pick up every thing at the yj on the 30th every thing is 50 percent off

Re: cams making noise

that's what i did ^ i swapped out the cam and then got the tick =/ but anyways just something you might want to know; the a6 cam will get you faster take offs but slower rolling starts, that's what i noticed when i swapped mine out.

I'm not 100 % sure, but what i will say is I cant imagine that it would matter THAT much, but I get the impression that stiffer, more robust springs are what are wanted.

Re: cams making noise

i didn't swap the springs, maybe that's why i got the tick after the swap, that seems like a fair price for the im.
as for the exact power i wouldn't know i haven't dyno-ed it because im going to swap it in a couple weeks but when it comes to racing other h23s its rather even the h23 is probably half or a door ahead of my f22

i believe the bolt patterns are the same, BUT it will need some modifications in order to function properly. Im not sure exactly what but i think it has something to do with the injectors. Can some one help us out on this one?
