Good deal or no? :)

I just bought my second car, a 92 prelude s (i think). It was a previous total loss (through insurance in 2004), and was stolen at one point as well. Its been through quite a bit in its day, but I just bought it a few days ago. The things that need fixing are, coolant leaking from drivers side bumper bottom area (what is leaking if its from that area?), and the cv is gone, so it needs axle changed, its got 264000 kms, the clutch engages and disengages like 20% in when you step on the clutch (which is good), and sometimes it revs high for a few seconds till it smoothly catches gear(right after shifting). Its also got a valve gasket leak as well as an oil pan gasket leak. Other than that its my winter beater in the prairies :D. p.s. the guy was asking 1200, which was low for a lude i thought, and things continued to 450 buckarooonies lollll

Opinions Ladies n Gentlemen?

Re: Good deal or no? :)

that coolant leak is probably the coolant overflow tanks needle broke off, or the hose cracked

Re: Good deal or no? :)

Clutch sounds like it's slipping and about to go, based on that explanation.
Coolant leak could also be from the lower rad hose, check clamp for looseness at the spot where it connect to the rad, check the top one too (it could be running down the rad).
As for the oil leaks, check to see that all the fasteners in the said area are properly tightened.

heres a picture to help with the clutch adjustment, I did this yesterday, and the annoying squeak from my release bearing is now GONE !!!

ps If you do go under the dash and do this, make sure the push rod that connects to lock nut B is clean, if it's all dirty and gunky then u have a bad master clutch cylinder seal, It can be re-built, but best to get that piece new.

Re: Good deal or no? :)

And btw, I got my 92 for ahem, 300 bucks and it had 296,000 Km..
After fixing some crucial "ish" my self, she now had 307,000 and runs SO perfect, these cars have CRAZY potential. Just need strong ecu and sensors all around.
