building motor pointer?!1

i have an original h22a in my car and it runs perfectly fine.. over the winter i want to build it up. My first thought was h22 turbo but then i thought it over and h22 are meant to be all motor and vtec no turbo. My question is would i be better off buying a built motor from someone or does anyone know of anyone around pittsburgh area that is definatly known to do superb work on hondas specifically h22? and if im going to take it somewhere what should i buy for the internals ? best quality for power? all opinions welcomed

i mean it is a couple month project but also i dont hurt for money lol. its not my street car its my dd and i just want to build it up to have a nice little all motor build nothing crazy basically a stage one upgrade if you will. Winter time i drive a 4x4 sammy lol summer time i drive my prelude everyday and then my street car that is an evo 8 with well over 500 whp so however to get the lude running 300 would be really smooth and nice because it has some nice torque

If you feel like you can drop an entire long-block into your car and get her running, I'd say save a couple grand by buying the built long-block and drop it in yourself.

If you don't feel comfortable with that, I would drop the entire car off at a place like AV Engineering, Jeff Evans, etc etc and let them have their way with it.

Re: building motor pointer?!1

No if you want a reliable motor i would build it yourself or have it built by a shop. To ensure proper procedures were taken to maximize the durability and life of the engine parts. If I could suggest a shop it would be Performance Theory Motorsports. Obviously I am sponsored by them, but I am trying to get my car in Hondatuning, and I will not sacrifice quality on my car. And thats why I suggest them, because of their level of quality. Also the block would be sent to Performance Research to be sleeved and honed and what not. Even the best honda shops in Ohio consider him a Motor building God, he is that good. (I am not sponsored by him, he is just that good) But check my sig for info yo, or give me a call tomorrow or text me at 614-581-7201 and I can hook you up with some estimates. Some members on here can attest to amazing quotes. For example a PnP job for an h22 head is $400-550, all depending. Let me know and we can set up a plan for your few month build. :D
