Evo X seats

My buddy who has a evo x is getting rid of his stock black recaro's and I am thinking about buying them. I have seen evo 8 seats in a 4th gen. but does anyone have insight on the x and if it will fit?

You do realize the X seats probably weight 4x what your stock ones do right? Plus, they usually go for $1000+ per pair easy. Why would you waste that much $?

They're leather RECARO seats... I also believe they're heated. If there's any extra weight added, the comfort, JDM-ness, and butt warmth make up for it. Not as costly as BRIDE seats, which typically run ~$1,000 per seat.

I say go for it, OP.

Re: Evo X seats

Airbags aren't a necessity; many cars around the world don't come standard with them. Actually, since it's a Recaro racing / semi-bucket seat, it'll grip you more in turns, etc. Hell, if this guy were to get in a wreak, it'd more than likely aid to keeping him in place; coupled with the airbag.

Who said i was paying big money for it? pick up the pair for 300 bucks...been thinking just reupholstering the stocks but the looks of these are pretty sweet and is a steal. Could cost 300 just to redo the stocks...

Did he ask that? I know the answer is no. Its funny how you totally disregard his question, I wonder if you actually read his whole post.

Because stock seats ****ing suck. Again had nothing to do with his question.

That'd be true... If Mitsubishi was an American car company. JDM = Japanese Domestic Market. It doesn't have to be sold in Japan for it to be Japanese; all that matters is the item's origin. If you bought a Ford Focus in Japan, it'd still be a USDM vehicle.

Besides, I generally don't care for phrases like "JDM yo" or "JDM-ness"; I mention these phrases for the lulz. I just like the added originality and rarity to your vehicle when said parts are installed.

Anyway, Recaro is a German corporation, so they're technically EDM...

No. It would be USDM spec. Not JDM spec. ;)

it doesn't matter where it's made, cars are constructed in specific trim for each intended market.

that's why there are preludes that are USDM, EDM, JDM.... they were all made in japan guys.

Re: Evo X seats

They were not all made in japan. Maybe designed in Japan, or the company is based in japan. But there is a huge honda factory by my house called honda marysville, that builds hondas... OG.... lol wait this is a stupid argument whether I am wrong or right. I am thinking I am prolly wrong but dumb argument. We are talking about seats not what is jdm or not. :) I am sorry.
