Re: My crankshaft is gone.....

What makes you think your crank is gone? It's a 65lb chunk of steel, they "hardly" ever "go bad".

You mean you spun a bearing??

Have your crank machined and used oversized bearings

idk about a h23 but i know for an h22 the f22 block fits up with the H head. so if that works a used block might be cheaper and easier than a new crank

true, i would just double check to make sure the mains are the same size tho. F22's are 50mm, while the F23 and F20's are 55mm, so it depends which F its from.

^^ this^^ I'm about to drop my spare STi block off at a machine shop that spun a rod bearing, and this is what i'm expecting to have to do.

Re: My crankshaft is gone.....

Sometimes a crank is beyond repair... Such as a crank we got at the shop from a 2.5 sti. It spun a rod and was very very badly cut up, plus some other spots were very chewed up. From something I am awares of.

ahh as long as you took it to a shop, they usually know what they're talking about.

like i said earlier, you gotta check which F22 its from; a1, b1, b2, 20b, etc...

At that point with that motor I would just replace the motor. And I happen to be selling a h22 block if you can find a head...

My H23A1 Head was rebuilt would that help? lol

Also my plan is just buying a crankshaft rebuilt from O'Reillys or from NOPI. I have ordered the Piston Rings, Oil Pump, Timing Belt and Complete Gasket Kit. Idk if with this how long the car will go but hopefully long enough to get the 00 Mustang fixed and sell it to get an Engine for the 'Lude. but i still dont know what engine. I read online that the F22 replaced the H23 idk could some of you shed some light on this?

at that point with a knock that loud and all that smoke i wouldnt doubt if you damaged the cylinders. regardless you deff spun a bearing making not only the crank junk but the rods junk as well. see if a f block matches up that would be the cheapest way out..

Re: My crankshaft is gone.....

ok sorry for not replying in a long time i had the car in the shop, infact its still there, the pulley came out after replacing the crankshaft, it happened while driving, so i replaced the timing belt, the power steering belt, and the pully, and now it wont drive, so im tired of the H23A1 and i plan now, now replacing it with an F22B and the ECu as well, what can you guys suggest?
