Oem Speakers and sub

So i just bought a prelude and noticed my center rear factory sub and rear driver speaker doesn't work. Also the passenger door speaker sounds fuzzy and distorted at a higher volume.

Is there any fixes for the 3 problems?

I found this solution for the sub(http://liveweb.archive.org/http://92...ad.php?t=12556 )
, but is there any other way to solve the problem? or if it's even worth doing all that wiring(i have no experience with electrical work.)?
thanks

Btw can anyone tell me recommended prelude forums I should join, so I don't need to make a new thread lol.

Re: Oem Speakers and sub

Might just be old or blown. Have you taken a look at them to see if they might be dry rotted?

Re: Oem Speakers and sub

replace the speaker, when my speakers blew on my old Si it just stopped playing music, but I'm on the same boat, my rear speaker/sub isn't working, so when my black speaker cover comes in to replace my tan one I'll look at it :)

Re: Oem Speakers and sub

and any oem speaker is going to sound like ****, even aftermarket at high volumes, unless you really spend a decent amount of money on a 4 channel amp and a nice set of speakers you will always be disappointed lol

Re: Oem Speakers and sub

Related to this, does replacing the head unit cause the stock sub to stop working? Where exactly does the sub receive it's signal from? Is it just run through a filter from the rear speaker lines?

Re: Oem Speakers and sub

Replace your speakers with alpine type s and do a kicker cvr sub and use a small kicker mono amp for the sub with aftermarket headnit. Same thing i put in my lude you will b very happy and it wont break the bank

Re: Oem Speakers and sub

Just the door speaker sounds shaky the rest are fine.

and i notice when i listen to the radio on my aftermarket deck the sub works but also sounds shaky but when i put a cd in, the sub doesnt work. Sub must be connected to the antenna or something.

planing to go to the wrecker on the weekend , any oem speakers for other cars that would work for the rear speaker and door?
