Re: How much is my 5 speed conversion worth?

there are a few considerations. first off, i hope this isn't an attempt to sell on this site with out the having enough posts.

2nd. considering not many 4th gen owners are looking to do a 5 speed swap, i'd say the worth of the whole kit isn't as much as say, if you had all the 5th gen parts. i wanna say there are like 2 or 3 parts that aren't compatible. pedal assy, gauges obviously, not sure what else. the going rate for 5th gens is around 7-800 for all the parts. i've seen them as high as a grand and as low as 600. as far as the whole kit for a 4th gen, i dunno what it's worth. but generally speaking, you're likely only going to find people looking for 5th gen compatible parts. so take that for what it's worth and price it. if i had to guess, 6-700.

I appriciate your response. I hope this isnt your attempt at being the post police. I asked about a price. Do I have enough posts for that?

This is much more helpful. This being my first Prelude I just assumed 5 speed conversions were in demand like in eg and ek Civics. I plan on finding a nicer 4th gen already done. Thanks for the info.

So? The first part of his response was about as useful as yours. If he's a mod then he should know the difference between a for sale thread and a question. I know the rules.

Re: How much is my 5 speed conversion worth?

you know the rules like every other brand new member that comes here and did the same thing you did. you can say all day that you know the rules but how do i know you know them? i was simply giving you a friendly warning. you seem like an intelligent individual by some of the posts you've put up so far. so instead of jumping to conclusions and just banning you outright, (like a few mods might have done) i gave you the benefit of the doubt. i'm one of the nice ones.

i'll just tell you now. every thread that starts like yours almost ALWAYS end up in a ban. and it starts exactly like yours. try to get a feel for who would buy something they have and how much they'll pay for it. then they post whore till they hit 50 posts and then post that their **** is for sale. so if you have any intention of staying here and sharing your knowledge with us, i'd suggest you stow the high and mighty 'tude. we're no better then one another. we all make mistakes. even intelligent people. sometimes it's not mistakes. yes, i do know the difference between a for sale thread and a question. but what i can't see through posts is blatant ignorance or an honest question. blackbb6 has been around long enough to know what happens when he sees posts like that. so consider yourself lucky. also if my intention was to be a dick, i would have been. read my sig. if i wanted to be a dick. i would have told you in several ways how stupid you are and not answered your question. those who know me will tell you i'm never a dick in one sentence and a nice guy in another. the whole post is going to be either dickish or nice.

Beaker, I believe you and I have got off on the wrong foot. I admit I took a little offence to your first post and jumped to conclusions. Its been a while since Ive joined a new forum and am not used to being a noob or reminded of the rules as such. I apologize. My question was serious and I appriciate you not pulling the "try a search" card. I tryed several searches on a couple different Honda forums and couldnt come up with much (supporting your response). The ones I did find were either closed with no price or from 2003.

I am not trying to sell anything on your forum.

You and I have a similar demeanor.
