Code 21 dented oil pan?

Hey, I have a 4th gen that I just put another h22a in, my oil pan did get a bit dented from us carrying the motor around for transport. ( i had to pick it up in alabama) But now I'm shooting a code for the Vtec spool solonoid and I've already put the one from my old motor on the new one, same code. Can the dented oil pan be causing the code? I've heard the stories of vtec not kicking because of dents and all.

Yes, dented oil pan can cause it. Had it happened to my buddy's 93 Prelude Si with a JDM H22A swap.
