struggling w my f**king axle

my axle boot is ripped and shootn grease everywhere. my axle nut is siezed. ive heated it up, ive banged out the indentation the best i could but it just wont budge. ive taken a breaker bar to the bitch and nothing. im extremely frustrated because i didnt even tighten it w a breaker bar, it should be coming off. so it has to be the that indentation that u hit down w the hammer, just grinding against the threads to form this sieze.

idk wtf to do!! guess i have to go to a shop like a noob and ask them to replace my axle for me. my only other idea is once i get a replacement nut to cut the **** through the stuck one and swap out the axle n nut.......any other ideas

till then im rolling on a f'd axle

you know to hammer the indentation out so that the axle nut spins freely, correct??


also, you need to put like a 6' cheater bar on the breaker bar in order to get enough leveragage, while the car is currently in gear, with the ebrake up, with someone standing on the brake, correct????

Impact gun is your friend, zips them right off with out even bending the indention back.

I had the same problem with mine till I just put a pole around the breaker bar to give me about 4 extra feet of leverage. They cracked off like it was a simple task that took me 3 hours to figure out. Good luck

^^^^ An impact gun would be your best choice though. If you have one.

You also know that those should be replaced every time they're taken off.

yes had ebrake up, in gear ,w sumone on the breaks, gna try it w my tire on thru the center cap. will try poll method n i guess my air gun

Are you talking about the lower control arm bolt? Are you trying to slide it out through the bottom? WORST CASE SCENARIO - is you undo the rubber boot (with the ring clamps) and take the axle and break it down into 2 halves and then slide it through. Now, with the new one you do the same thing, break it down in 2, slide it in, then when you put back together make sure to try to keep the grease inside the boot as much as possible. IIRC there are 3 knobs on the outside CV and 3 holes on the inside CV. You just push them back together (make sure you are hitting the correct holes [yea i know i'm dirty] but they are DIFFERENT SIZES! pay attention!) pull the boot back over and re-clamp. By the way, the blue grease looks tasty BUT DON'T EAT IT!!

It's a pain in the ass, but I had to help another member on here and we had the same problem. Trust me it'll get done that way...

Correct, thats the rack and pinion. I have had to replace those before. That is correct you need 11, 13 and 5. I broke one of my number 11's and used a large zip tie in a pinch. Still holding up fine and it's been 3 years.
