stupid headers!

I'm convinced that King Kong works at the Honda factory. I cannot get these stupid bolts off my headers to put new ones on. Even with my brother kicking the ratchet we can't get them to budge! I'm gonna go see if I can get the bolts out of the cat, because the bolts that will not move are the ones connecting the two piece headers together. If I can free the cat, I know I can get the manifold off the engine, and I'll just cut the pipe and pick up some new bolts from the hardware store. We'll see. I really don't want to have to take this somewhere for just some headers.

used like a can of the stuff.... Ahead of ya on that one, however I don't have an impact gun.. and no one else I know is really into cars besides my dad who is afraid to do anything to his cars. The cutting idea wouldn't work, upon closer inspection there is a bracket of sorts where the two pieces meet, so if I cut it, I still couldn't get them out. So now my lude is up at midas.... rickafrackin' sassafrassin' grr.... it really bothers me that I'm paying for something so simple, I guess the right tools really do make the difference. I do have a compressor left from my dad's old business... might need to look into air tools for future projects.

Well, at least they did a good job. The new headers are on, the stripped bolt I had is replaced, and theres a noticeable difference in the driving. A happy ending after all! And with the new CAI coming in for next weekend, things are starting to get fun.

air tools ARE quite handy, but wouldnt be able to fit into the tight spaces needed to take our header off.

buy yourself a nice 3/8" 1' breaker bar and a torque wrench, and combine them with a ratchet and that should be all you need to do about 80% of the work on your car.

extensions haha i have extensions 3/8" and 1/2" ranging from 2 feet to 3 inches, i needed the 2 foot one for the back 2 plugs on my 300ci straight 6 in my F-150 .... but when using extensions with impact guns make sure you use craftsman, because they are most likely going to break... haha

all you need is a 3/8" impact and that will get you into tight spaces. i will be good. i paid $250 for mine. but the sad part is i only paid $40 for my 1/2" impact. pretty sad when you pay more for an impact that has less power.

i had issues with those 40$ impact guns, they would only last me like a month or so, so after about the 3rd one i broke down and bought a SnapOn 3/8" impact, i paid 450$ for it but it was definately worth it, then i have a Husky 1/2" that i confiscated out of a tool box in a used truck on our lot
