94 prelude shuttering/sputtering/bogs
Ok, I researched for a few hours and haven't found anything exactly identifying the kind of problem I'm having... For the quick back story, I have a 1994 Prelude Si (H23), the motor died about 4 years ago and i replaced it with a JDM H23. I recently had a lot of work done to it (Crankshaft Seal, Balance Shaft Belt, Auxiliary Shaft seal, Multi Rib belt, Cylinder Head Seal, Camshaft Seal, Oil Cooler Seal, Timing Belt, Valve Cover Gasket Set, Water Pump, Multi Rib Belt, Thermostat Gasket, Distributor O-ring, Distributor Seal, Heater Hose, Timing Belt, Distributor Assembly, and Engine Oil Cooler - It was basically a complete vehicle inspection since i was leaking a lot of oil and it was running less than it should). Anyways, it was running fantastic afterwards (btw, this work was done in early May). Now for the problem, two days ago I started to notice a stutter in acceleration but didn't last long and i attributed it to the A/C being used. I know you tend to loose some power with it running and when I shut it off at the next few signals, it seemed not to do it. However over those two days it's progressively gotten worse. It's not to the point that with or without the a/c on, it bogs and stutters randomly while idleing, sutters and bogs down for about 3 seconds (no matter how hard the accelerator is pressed) before it stops and accelerates seemingly more normal. And even in higher rpms while still accelerating, there will be moments of random stutters (brief, but noticable). My first thought was I somehow used regular fuel instead of premium. However, when i revisited the same gas station, i double checked the button i pressed (i remembered it was on the left) and it was labeled Premium. Unless the fuel supply company for the Hess station i got gas put the wrong fuel in the wrong hole, I'm lost for ideas on what could be affecting it so much considering the amount of work i've put in to the engine very recently. I did a spark plug test today, by which i mean i unplugged one cover at a time, the engine's rpm lowered and sputtered on all 4, so it's firing all cylinders. The fuel light was on before i refueld, so it's possible it sucked sludge into the engine, however, since my fuel gauge is burned out (i need to get a new cluster), i usually wait for the gas light to come on and it's never been an issue before. Sorry for the long story, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time reading my woes and happy luding!
