Trading my Lude

So tomorrow night I will be saying goodbye to my current lude which has is a 1992 5 spd and has an f22a1 motor for a 1993 with a h22a motor and a 5 spd. I am really looking forward to getting my first honda with an h22 motor. I have owned 2 ludes so far this will be my 3rd one my first had an h23 and now an f22. I loved the first one but hate this one it has been nothing but problems since I got it. Any way wish me luck guys and I will post pictures of my new one once I get a chance to.

you should never get rid of a prelude, not even for another prelude.

...you are now dead to me

Re: Trading my Lude

the prelude i have now is an absolute nightmare they hacked up the wiring and did hatchet job upgrades like cutting the springs while they were still installed in the car to lower it. Every time I tried to repair something I found more stuff wrong with and I just really want a h22

Re: Trading my Lude

Does the guy your trading ludes with know about all these problems?

Also, are there any problems with the h22 lude? I dont see why he would trade a prelude with a h22 for one with a f22. Unless his has problems also

Re: Trading my Lude

I did the trade and I included a pretty decent laptop for the trade and he wanted it for better fuel economy. As far as the problems with this one go it might need a rebuild on the motor worse case scenario which i am more then happy to do seeing as it means a tops of 3 days down time compared to god only knows how long to rewire the whole car and even then thats no guarantee that would even work. But right now it is running kinda rough doesnt idle well, rpms bounce while idling and stalls sometimes at idle or going around corners at idle. It needs new plugs though they said the ones in it are pretty fouled up. otherwise my dad(ase master certified) said it might be a vacuum leak, iac, or a bad temp sensor to the computer. Its not knocking or anything just missing. Like I said though Id rather do a complete rebuild for 300 bucks of parts then spend hundreds and still have problems. Should have pics tomorrow night too

$300 for a rebuild? What are you rebuilding, the exhaust? I just laid to $600 for a blown head gasket because I wanted to do it right. I think your numbers may be off a bit man, lol.

Re: Trading my Lude

Actually yeah. I get very good shop discounts and I do all the work myself. $300 won't go very far if you intend to rebuild and replace stuff that's broken and stuff that works, but is a pain to fix when it does break. Preventative maintenence is key.
