Aftermarket Motor Mounts

So, our OEM engine mounts bite. I've been looking around to get a good set of aftermarket ones that wont destroy my budget and will still let me knock out the crazy torque I want from my All-motor build.
So far I've looked into Innovative, Explicit and a few other small time brands but I'm having problems deciding... opinions?

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

Cmon guys, just looking for opinions here. All of us have to have had this issue, the OEM mounts wont support our engines once you start building em. Just post what brand you put in, that's all I need

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

people tend to love the innovative mounts and the explicit mounts. I've only heard one complaint about the esp mounts but that guy is neurotic and I dismissed it lol.

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

The only thing about Explicit is that we know the guy, he makes the mounts in his mothers garage. And you pay hiim before he makes them, which is okay but I've heard a few bad words about him and not holding up to his word.
I think I'll go ahead and try to get him to make mine since he's so close, he lives like 20 miles south of me so I can go harass him if need be.

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

Anyone want to put in with me for some motor mounts and I'll see if we can get a discount rate for a large order?
Explicit with red polyurethane bushings is 260 for the set. Maybe a larger order will lower the cost.
Either PM me or reply here with your requests.

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

i have Energy Suspension motor mount inserts and they work perfect, never had a problem with them and they have been in the for about 2 yrs now. i think they are a lot cheaper than buying a complete mount and does exactly the same thing

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

The only issue there is styling and ease of access. With the aftermarket mounts it will tighten up the flex more than just the inserts and it also makes the bay look so much better, that OEM mount on the drivers side looks so dumb.
For a normal h22 or h23 I'm sure the OEM w/ inserts work okay, but when you build up above 250 whp then youre going to start seeing more movement in youre engine mountings.

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

The mounts are relatively easy as long as you have the tools. Ratchets with extenstions and deep well sockets & a car jack to hold up your engine in the process.
I use my cordless impact but thats not required, I just like the 300ft/lbs it puts out :)

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

I would go with the ESP personally. I have the innovative mounts and they were just hell to put in. The tranny one does not sit completely flush. Took about 6 hours at a friends house with like 6 people trying to fight with these mounts. My friend installed his esp mounts a couple days later and said they went in like butter.

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

Yeah that was my bad, I call em explicit, read above ^^^. Got confused when you said ESP.
And I'm glad your doing good with just the inserts ogsmak, I would be lying if I said I wasnt. I'd just rather swap the mounts out since mine is already shot. And I like the extra space the aftermarket mounts give.

Re: Aftermarket Motor Mounts

motor mount inserts dont take up any more space than the esp ones do. It was OGS who originally convinced me to go with inserts when i was looking into poly mounts and i have never regretted it.

Um.... the motor mount by the drivers side More Information for ANCHOR 9085
is fugly man. The aftermarket one, even from ESP is way cleaner looking.
