What do i have?
I have a 1994 Honda prelude Si. It is a dohc f22b. Is that good? I thought i had an h23a1 until i looked at the stamp on the block.

Re: What do i have?
The f22b is practically the same as the h23a1. They were used in Japanese Preludes(4th gens).

Re: What do i have?
This is the question that has haunted the Prelude scene for many years. They are very similar engines, yet also very different...
Specs: F22B: 9.5:1 148 lb/ft @ 5000RPM 158 hp @ 6000RPM H23A1: 9.8:1 156 lb/ft @ 4500RPM 160 hp @ 5800 RPM |

Thanks for the info guys! Tell me what you would do... Boost or swap?
I need more power! without spending a fortune. |

Re: What do i have?
Probably much better to go with boost! Ive Always wanted a boosted car anyway.

Re: What do i have?
F22A1 is better for boost. Your motor is closer to H23 eventho its bearing an F-series name. Since it's closer to an H-series motor, it's better to keep it N/A, but that's just my opinion.

Re: What do i have?
i ran 8lbs for three years on a stock block h23. dsm build.
i'm ripping everything and redoing everything on my 4th gen. so i'll have a dsm setup if you're interested. and to my knowledge the f22 is the same exhaust manifold bolt pattern as the h23. |
