Icon5 car isnt running properly

After finishing my swap i ve been driving it for a couple weeks now, it seems really slow like it doesnt have any power like it should. It seems to be bogging down and takes a while to rev up. Could this be a timing issue. My vtec is not working since the switch haas gone. Its really slow in the low rpms, it doesnt have the torque it should...the idle has a mind of its own, when i first start it, it revs at 2000 after that, it bounces from 1000 - 2000. After it has been driven it revs around 600-700 rpm. I dont think the idle has anything to do with it not accelerating as fast but thought i should throw it out there!
Thanks for all the help

Re: car isnt running properly

i take it you have an h22..

also it idling that high on start up is normal all hondas do that when the motors cold.

is your check engine light on?

Re: car isnt running properly

Idle problems are most likely due to FIV and/or IACV. Do a compression test on the motor maybe it need a valve adjustment also or something, all the vac lines are good, like cruel said is there a CEL (check engine light)?

Re: car isnt running properly

yea i took both valves of a cleaned them with some carb cleaner.
can you go to any shop and get a compression test done? One vac line is off for the cruise control. There is a check engine light and its throwing code 22, vtec pressure switch i believe.

Re: car isnt running properly

If the vac line for CC is off then is it plugged on the intake manifold? You can go to pretty much any shop and get a compression and most should be able to do a leak down if the compression is bad so they can tell you where you are losing compression.

Re: car isnt running properly

its not plugged into anything. I looked at my buddys h22a1, his is the srv, which has another plug on the intake mani where as mine only has one. Do you know how much a compression test usually is?
My car often goes into limp mode where it will only rev to 4000 for some reason,
Thanks

Re: car isnt running properly

make sure you get the code when it is in limp mode, you need to have a plug over anything in the intake manifold that doesnt have a vac line on it, so plug that. I don't know how much compression tests cost, because I have my own and before that i would rent one from autozone, but I would assume they don't cost very much.

Re: car isnt running properly

well i can only read one code at a time, i dont have a code reader. Well i read that your car will go into limp mode if there is a sudden drop in vacumm pressure which will disable you vtec and change your a/f ratio which could explain why its running so crappy...
does this make sense guys?

Yes it makes sense, plug all the things on your IM that do not have vac lines coming out of them lol
