Newbie Here - With ABS warning light fault

Hi Guys...new to this forum so apologies if this is already covered else where.

I have a 96 Honda Prelude - best car I've ever owned!!! Problem is the ABS warning light has now come on and stays on whilst the engine is running.

Is this a common fault? and is there a best place to start to replace components. I was thinking of replacing the sensors first

If anyone has any experience I would really appreciate it!

Cheers

Re: Newbie Here - With ABS warning light fault

Mine has been on every since I've owned the car. there is an abs connector beside the data link connector on the driver's side behind the center console and you hook it up with a jumper wire and count how many times the abs light blinks and there is a chart/table that tells you what is malfunctioning. try searching Google for diagnosing the abs light I'm sure there is a write up or you could download the service manual and check that as well.

Re: Newbie Here - With ABS warning light fault

if it turns on when you start the car its most likely your ABS unit, if it takes driving a block or so its most likely one of the wheel sensors (like mine)

Re: Newbie Here - With ABS warning light fault

yeah....mine takes about 30sec of moving for the ABS light to light up. Have checked the sensors resistance at the ABS unit and they all are inline with the workshop manual so I'm not sure where to go from here.
