My New lude

hey guys im new to owning a Honda, and new to these forums. this is my third car, before this prelude i have owned two corolla's, an AE82 and a KE70.

i got this car for 500, had some engine issues but i took it to a local mechanic, he changed the spark plugs and leads and she ran like new.

although it still needs a bit of work.

apparently its missing an engine mount, the mechanic said he'd do it for 150.

there is a really loud screeching sound when car turns on and he said its something in the starter motor that is going the wrong way, although it starts every go with no problem, he suggested a replace.

also, the mechanic says the gearbox needs a service as it changes from 1st to 2nd the car bounces forward and does so very roughly. its automatic. :(

two other things i need for it is a passenger side quarter panel window as it has been smashed, apparently these are fairly expensive? and also needs a new dash, the one in the middle with the fuel and temp readings has shorted somewhere and on the circuit board behind it has black burn marks all over it. also the 4WS light is on? dunno why. car drives good though, im starting to like it :D

does anyone know where i can get my hands on a second hand dash for a 4th gen? and a window? and what starter motor do i need or are they all the same?

thanks, any help is appreciated!

anyway here are some pics

just want it as a daily driver for now, but in the future when i have a little more cash i might have some plans for it :D

RHD!? Automatic to 5speed swap FTW!!!

As for the quarter window id say check out ebay. But the RHD dash will probably be harder to spot, i understand theres a couple guys on here with some RHD's if anyone can chime in on that they may have parts.

Found your window :D

Re: My New lude

I'm guessing most of them are RHD in Australia. :D
Since your trans is having issues, maybe look into a 5sp swap...

Re: My New lude

i like the steering wheel too, so comfy to drive, and yes nearly all cars in australia are RHD :D are 5speed box's common?

i must admit a 5speed would be much more fun but atm i just need a car to get to and from work
