Turn over turn over SSKKIRRCHHH!!!

OK well it is just how it sounds. The car will turn over then it will make the sound as if I am reingaging the starter while the car is running. Its wierd. It has done it 3 times today. Now the questin here is what could it be. My first thought was maby the teeth on the starter of fly wheel are warped or sheering off. The car also have very little power while not running. After i turned the car off the windows rolled up alot slower than useale. Now im aware that i may need to replace my battery or altinator. But would that be contributing to my starting issue?

That started happening to me too recently. Someone told me it was my fuel pump (I'm not sure if they know what they're talking about though).

nice.

do you have any problems with the car not starting when you hear the sound? could be the alt. or it might be the power steering belt making that sound

Re: Turn over turn over SSKKIRRCHHH!!!

sounds don't really translate too well on text. could you be more specific, like a screeching? and is it just when you first start the car? does it go away when you rev it?

Well its not the power steering belt becasue it snapped 3months ago and is no longer there lls. And The whole not having a lot of power thing, i meant the windows roll up very slowly when the key is out, a lot slower than normal.
After the first time i hear the sound the car will stop turnning over as if i took my foot off the clutch. The car will start up after the 2nd or third try, and the noise is only on start up.
Neck, (not sure why your called that lol) but have you ever turned the key again after the motor is already running. You will hear the sound of the starter meshing with the flywheel again. It makes a screeching noise. I would love to make a video but the car isn't even doing it anymore Ive started the car 4 times in a row with no problems just now. but thanx for the attempts to help

Re: Turn over turn over SSKKIRRCHHH!!!

gotcha i thought you meant the ENGINE had no power, not electrical power. you gotta specify for dumbass' like me

stock flywheel?
if you are thinking its the starter/flywheel teeth, just take the starter off with the 2 bolts (14 and 17mm i believe), look at the teeth on the flywheel, and pull the starter geary thingy outta teh starter and inspect that.

i wanna say there was a batch of bad fidanza flywheels where the ring of teeth literally sheered off the flywheel so teh ring of teeth just spun around the flywheel. but if that truly were the case for you, i'd imagine you'd never be able to start the car.

OK well it did it again last night. I have been doing some work and have been suggested that i may have a bad crankshaft position sensor. Ive been looking and it appears that it is located in the dizzy of my 92 F22a1. Can anyone confirm this may be the problem?

Naj,
after reading this I'm still going with my last diagnosis...bad starter/solenoid

or...

you're missing some teeth off your flywheel, which could sometimes "miss" when trying to start it (grinding) and then when you get it around to where there are good teeth it'll start up fine. Thats what I'm thinking is why its random too.

and on your second issue we discussed, your gauge flickering, definitely pull that main relay and resolder that bad boy.

Re: Turn over turn over SSKKIRRCHHH!!!

well its not my altinator, battery, starter or my main relay. The car took a nice juicy **** on me while i was tyring to leave school today. There is no power at all (no horn, no lights, dosnt, click no radio.) for anyone that may not get what i mean. Now shes just a pretty paper weight. I got get her towed about 13 miles, and becasue its a lowered car im looking at about 150.00 but that ok... becasue i have a hydrolic jack... im going to bump her back up to stack hight. and hoply if i cant find anyone else to tow it, ill shave 25 dollars off the cost..... And you know what... Im not even mad becasue i have high blood pressure.

Re: Turn over turn over SSKKIRRCHHH!!!

have you done the main relay fix? with the heat that has been on here lately that usually shows up if its an issue. (basically you pull it, pull it apart, resolder pins, reinstall, tada)
