Spoiler Third Brake Light Wiring (HELP)

Alright guys, let me break it down to you. I bought this "Si VTEC" spoiler with a third brake light from a guy in town. I couldn't pass it up.

I've had it for nearly a month now and I haven't really figured out how to wire it up. I've googled it and everything, but I can't find anything. This is how the wires are:

It looks like the guy unbolted it, then just cut the wires. I know there is a certain harness that goes to it, but I don't have that harness. What you see is what I have. So if I was to get the $12 harness from honda would I just cut it and solder it to these wires? and then where the hell would I plug the other end of the harness to? I have been unable to find a write up for this or any kind of solid information. So if anyone knows, please help

Re: Spoiler Third Brake Light Wiring (HELP)

If you get a new harness from honda, don't cut anything...just unscrew the red led light part of the spoiler, hook it up to the light and feed the harness through that way.

Tie a string to one end of the harness to make it easier to pull through...the other end of the harness should be up in the back of the trunk lid.

Oh I got you.. i just took the third brake light strip out of the spoiler and pulled the wiring out and found the female plug. I'm going to go to honda after I get the spoiler painted and hopefully they will have one on hand instead of ordering one. I can't really find where the other end of the harness plugs in at though i've looked all in my trunk.. maybe it's up towards the high mount third brake light?

If I were you, I would go ahead and order the harness bc chances are very good that they won't have it in stock.

I can pretty much guarantee it's tucked up in the truck lid somewhere. You can maybe try unscrewing the license plate lights to see if you can see it that way.

Re: Spoiler Third Brake Light Wiring (HELP)

Alright so I went outside and looked around all over my trunk lid. I took the license plate lights out, looked behind them, and nothing. I even took out my license plate frame and looked behind it and nothing. I looked in all the holes in the trunk lid and i never seen a stray harness. I figured maybe it's where my high mount third brake light is so i took the cover off and looked at the harness on it and i don't really think it would go into that. So I'm stumped pretty much.

Re: Spoiler Third Brake Light Wiring (HELP)

Ok I just took a look at mine, kinda hard to tell but it looks like it may be hooked up behind the left side trunk lining. It's weird bc in the helms it looks like it's in the trunk lid. I'm out of ideas if it's not there, maybe someone else will chime in.

edit: now that I think about it, I don't think the '92's had a light in the spoiler, so you may have to splice it into the brake lights.

No, the 92's didn't. I think they started doing it in '94? I got it off a '94 so i guess that's just it. i may take the light strip out there and splice it in and see if it works. if not, then idk i guess i'm s.o.l. lol. thanks for all your help though man i appreciate it

Re: Spoiler Third Brake Light Wiring (HELP)

This may be a dumb comment but I've always thought about this.. are you going to disconnect the third brake light on the back window and just have the one on the spoiler, or are are you just going to have an extra brake light?

actually i'm just gonna have four brake lights lol. I should never get rear ended. although the red l.e.d. strip on the spoiler is really red it makes my brake lights look almost orange. so i think i'm gonna try and find some red bulbs and redo all my brake lights with those instead of clear bulbs. (if i find some)

i'm gonna put pictures of it up probably tomorrow night so you can see for yourself. i actually like it
