awd 4th gen!!!!!

This really got my curiosity going. I typed "awd honda prelude" into google and it came up with a youtube vid of a very clean 4th gen on an awd dyno with an h22. What awd trans would even work with the counter clockwise h22? Didn't think there was one. This is way better than any rwd conversion!

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

Never mind. My excitement overwhelmed my vision. I think i'll do the k24a like I had planned with the awd cr-v trans like planned and try utilizing the front half shafts instead of blocking them off in the rwd conversion

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

When you have a FWD car on an AWD dyno, all 4 rollers spin regardless. That 4G isn't actually AWD.

I was thinking h2b conversion with a B-series cr-v awd trans.

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

This has been talked about time and time again. It wouldn't work how you would want it to work (i.e. like an STi or Evo or GT-R). Do a little more research and you'll see that it totally wouldn't be worth it.

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

I have been reading up on the honda "sh awd" systems and think it would be sweet because it can transfer 100% of the power to the wheels with grip. Its not like a regular awd system where the power is transfered to the wheels with no grip like an open diff. I think it would work great, something like the TL maybe.

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

the h2b setup(s) do not have mounts for our cars. Its only for civics and integras. u would need to fab custom mounts and ****fter linkage if memory serves me correctly. It would be cheaper to just buy an sti lol

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

Na, there has never been a production awd lude. I think I'm gonna try to utilize the front half shafts on the k24 awd trans from a cr-v and maybe see if it'll work some how. I really, really want this.

Yeah, but an STI isn't a Prelude. They dont look anywhere as nice imo. No offense to anyone with an STI

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

Post results if you can achieve any but don't lose to much sleep over this idea. Not trying you doubt your abilities or ingenuity obviously because I don't know you.... but some great minds have tried and failed not due to lack of knowledge but the lack of vehicle parameters.

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

The best way to do it and have a real AWD and not some Honda bull crap "real time" AWD is to take a STI or a Evo and put a prelude chassis on top of it. As seen with this Civic on a WRX

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

If Honda ever brought the prelude badge back it would be nice to have AWD.
I don't think Honda has ever had a real rally car.
They could make it a hybrid and drive the back wheels with an electric motor.
I would want a hybrid AWD Prelude.

You're high. I would kick my rustbucket to the curb in a heartbeat if someone gave me an '06 STi.

Re: awd 4th gen!!!!!

Enough of the Bring back the prelude. There was only one way to bring the prelude back and Infiniti Put my idea to paper: 2011 Infiniti M35h Hybrid. The only thing they didn't do is a MR setup. Honda's Turbo System better Kick Nissan's ass.
