Is my cracked trans fixable?

Pulled the motor and trans today and it has a small crack right at the bottom. Like the car was bottomed out.

It's right on the bell housing near the edge and goes in about a inch. Otherwise it looks real good. Does have a crap load of miles though. I don't know how it shifts since the car was not running when we got it.

What you all think?

If I get a new one, where is the cheapest one to find? And how much?

I was planning on using this one.

Re: Is my cracked trans fixable?

Alright here just keep in mind that if it is a small enough crack to be filled up would you really entrust your car's means of getting the power to the wheels to a welded up, formerly damaged transmission? Your transmission going out may just end up with you stranded on a motor way or worst case scenario you losing control.
Save yourself a headache and get a new transmission.
A dedicated honda junk yard or salvage yard will be your best friend imo

Re: Is my cracked trans fixable?

im not pretending to know the answer here as i havent worked on a lude tranny yet but this is the second thread in a week where someone has a damaged bellhousing and the recommendation from other members is to change the transmission. if the bellhousing is part of the tranny on this model and not removable then fine but from he cars ive seen in the past its just a case for the flywheel/clutch and a means of securing the tranny to the motor. kinda like if you break a door window, replace the window not the whole door. if im wrong someone correct me...

Re: Is my cracked trans fixable?

The bellhousing is just a case, but it will protect the trans from the elements. I just don't recommend relying on a weld to be a fix, only because imo its a temporary solution.
