Perfect shift

Hi all, i have '92 prelude 2.3i, and there is even custom shift light. So maybe does anyone know what is the best shift? 2,3,4k or even more rpm? :)

Re: Perfect shift

I would say that it would be closer to redline. If not you dont get the full power from your power band, and you dont use your VTEC. I think ideally the VTEC should kick in earlier then it does, so reprogram your ECU to start the VTEC ealier, and then you'll get more power throughout the power band.

Corrcet me if im wrong.

Re: Perfect shift

Shift at redline every shift! That way you can have a nice hole in your engine like me! On the plus side I dont need to add oil every 1500 miles!!!

Re: Perfect shift

Really just find your powerband, and shift towards the end of that. After you get out of the top end of your powerband, you're just increasing the chance of doing damage to your engine. There's no need to redline it every gear.

Re: Perfect shift

Shift at 3k rpm and near redline if your racing.
