Stock mounts vs After market mounts

I ordered some innovative mount but the person who's helping me with my swap says that the stock mounts are better, and they provide more suspension/dampening for the engine than the aftermarket mounts. he says because they dont have space in between the mount rubber they are stiffer therefore you will feel more engine vibration in the car making it feel more like a drag car than a car for street use. Is this true? or is he talking foolishness. Im asking as a person that is only privy to the theory but less knowlegable when it comes to experience of constructing cars.

Re: Stock mounts vs After market mounts

It will not feel like a race car because they use solid mounts. You will feel more vibration, but the mounts are alot better than stock

Completely subjective. In my experience, one is not better than the other without a situation to compare them.

Stock > Aftermarket in daily driving situations

Aftermarket > stock in drag and road racing situations.

Which do you plan to do more of?

Re: Stock mounts vs After market mounts

I have the innovative mounts in mine and noticed no difference in vibration at all. The car actually takes off way smoother. Only thing is the innovative mounts are poorly designed to fit good and will fight you when trying to get them in. The mounts by ESP are perfect from what I heard.

It will be my daily driver. But I like to find street races to "watch" on weekends. the solution i came up with today was to use the stock side mounts and use aftermarket front and rear ,since those two take the most stress, and use the oem side mounts.

I was considering esp also but i couldn't wait 3-4 weeks for them. But i heard their worth the wait.

Re: Stock mounts vs After market mounts

I run innovative mounts and I don't notice any vibrations if there even is any. Solid mounts help reduce wheel hop which makes your car faster off the line. They should also last longer than stock rubber mount.

Re: Stock mounts vs After market mounts

honestly the vibration theory makes sense on paper. the stock has way more rubber to dampen vibrations with, however this rubber also has more flex then a more solid after market mount. so i planned on only get 2 new mounts. rocking the after markets on the sides for the engine bay bling factor n they would pay off in handling turns. but if u say the rear mnt takes the most force from acceleration, now im thinking i should get 3 aftermarket mnts. is anyone running combos of stock/aftermarket mnts??????
