Vibration Issue????

I've got a vibration coming from wwhat feels like the left ffront of my 92 Si 4WS. Checked lug nuts, wheel bearings, tires, tie rod ends and ball joints. All are good went ahead and had tire rotated and balanced still didn't help. Haven't checked motor mounts yet, could a bad one be the culprit? Any suggestions appreciated. Not really sure where else to look at this point beyond motor mounts. Brake pads, calipers and rotors are fine. Thanks in advance.

Could be a motor mount. Is your alignment off?

Re: Vibration Issue????

No alignment was done not too long ago. Tires are wearing even and it doesn't pull. Motor mount is about the only thing left I can think of just thought I would check and see if anyone here had run into anything different on a lude.

Re: Vibration Issue????

Good point Ludimus I'll check those too. It's actually on my daughter's car so it may be couple more days before I can get my hands on it again to check it out. I'll come back and let you guys know what I find.

Re: Vibration Issue????

I need motot mounts but car doesn't vibrate, it just hinda jumps abit more when I down shift. Does the vibration happen while you start applying the brakes? COuld be warped rotors. Turn em' if they still have enough meat in em'.

Re: Vibration Issue????

It's just an uncommon vibration fellas. I been working on cars for 20 years a 7 years professionally. Usually a vibration like this is easily diagnosed in the steering components or other things that I mentioned. This is however the first prelude I've been around and was looking for something that might be vehicle specific to look for. The common stuff didn't show anything upon inspection. Still haven't gotten my hands on the car again to check motor mounts and shocks/struts.

Re: Vibration Issue????

I've had vibration under acceleration since I got my car. I replaced the axles, mounts, balanced wheels, etc. Today i replaced my intermediate shaft and the shaking under acceleration is gone. =D Could have been a bad bearing or had been slightly bent.

Thanks bdmski, I hadn't really thought about that as a possibility. Will check it also.

Re: Vibration Issue????

OK, got my hand on the car today got it up in the air and found the left inner CV joint has a little play in it. CV axle shafts are on order. Car has 200,000 miles on it if I'm putting one axle on I'm gonna do both. Pretty sure this is gonna be the fix. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Before when I checked I wasn't able to get it up in the air good and only checked the outers.
