6 speed trans for the H23?

Is there a way I can put a 6 speed tranny on the H23? Anybody make a kit or is it a direct bolt on?

Re: 6 speed trans for the H23?

well if you dont want swap engines the youd have do something entirely custom for a six speed. just doing a fd swap seems kinda stupid imo, slower accell overall. if you just want lower cruising rpms then swap in a tranny from a f22 a m2l5 i believe

Re: 6 speed trans for the H23?

First gear is way too short for turbo imo so I want to prep my car before I go for it. Next spring I'm tearing the car down for paint and body work so I plan on sending the block out to Darton for some mid sleeves and the crank out for balancing. I'll be going with crower rods and je pistons. I've already ordered all body moldings, window moldings, door, trunk, hood seals, 5th gen moonroof and 5 lug conversion. I'm just getting all my ducks in a row before she goes to paint. I want paint and body work to be the last thing I do to completely finish the car.

you shouldn't really be boosting in first gear to be honest unless its a serious track car..

hondata offers boost by gear i believe.

If all you want is to lower your gear ratios, grab an M2L5 from an F22

I just want to take off from a stop like a bat out of hell and not have to shift .01 seconds later. You have to understand, I live in southern mn so there are alot of open country roads : wink:

Re: 6 speed trans for the H23?

First gear's gonna run out quickly anyway, but the M2L5 has a 4.062 final drive, vs a 4.266 on the others. You'll also want to invest in a LSD

Re: 6 speed trans for the H23?

This whole thing started because of some kid talking sh+t with an SRT4. He talked sh+t about my project vehicles and my black 35th anniversary Mustang GT with 40k original miles and 03-04' Cobra bumper with 305-17's and 100 shot of spray. So I bought this 92' Prelude because I love the body style and I think I can make something of it. I'm restoring this car to new again, not like new, new. I'm putting on some updates that I think the car should have come with like the glass roof and 5 lug, but I'm building the engine to be a monster. Whatever I have to put into this car to shut everybody up, thats what I'm gonna do. It has to be the power plant that came with the car though, thats the deal. I will stop that kid from talking smack and my Prelude will be the thing that does it. The 4th gen is one of the most beautifull cars out there

Re: 6 speed trans for the H23?

Bisimoto has one but you will need the B series axel I think?? anyhow here is the link:

Adapter Plate kits: H2B/H2D, etc : Bisimoto Engineering, Where Efficiency Meets Technological Perfection

btw 6 speed will only be good for highway roads cuz in town you will be having a stroke from shifting 2-3-4 or 4-3-2 then you will replace your leg with some artificial one lol

Re: 6 speed trans for the H23?

So, you want longer gear ratios and you are looking for a Honda close-ratio 6-speed on a H23 because some moron in a SRT-4 gave you crap. You want something that will launch of the line, and you chose a FWD. I can't help but laughing.

If you want something that launches of the line go buy a WRX STi, put some heavy duty drive shafts in, up the boost pressure a bit, put on some drag radials or R-comps. Rev to about 6k and dump clutch. Hold on cause you will be gone.

I want to beat him on even ground. His car is a 4cyl fwd and so is the lude. I don't want him to be able to come back and talk crap because I beat him with an awd or something stupid like that. You understand? I could have easily smoked him in my Stang or easily gone out and bought a 3000gt vr4 and dusted his azz also, but that wouldn't be fair, level ground.
