control arm bushing?

Some Guy on CL is selling these for dirt cheap. Im wondering if they are worth it.do these look stock?

What is the sympton if these bushings go bad? My Driver side of the car is lower and looking into the wheel well the top part of the control arm seems to be close to the top of (inside) fender compared to the other side.

I'll put up some pictures of my suspension soon.

Re: control arm bushing?

Symptoms? Depending on how badly yours are worn out, suspension travel can be sloppy and may cause a clunking sound. Lift the car up and inspect the bushings one day.

Re: control arm bushing?

I did.

Can't really ascertain what is bad and good. Ball joints look like they could use a change, I just thought about the CA bushinhlgs but can't see them from wheel well.

Re: control arm bushing?

I had the Guy wwho put in my Cat look at it and he said all looked ok, no play. But then the car was on a wheel lift not frame lift.

I'll put up pics. That will help.

In the meantime any suggestions would be cool.

Thanks.

Re: control arm bushing?

What year is the car and how many miles does it have? It could just be a sagging spring

Re: control arm bushing?

93 sivtc there are front end issues, that's y I'm trying to get everything in order.

As I stated in other posts.. had it looked at by a mechanic and says nothing is wrong, suggested that the spring is not correct. Others say its UCA bushings.

-squirly Steering-feels loose
-steers following road surface condition
-driver side wheel positioning doesn't look aligned with rear.-due to sag? Camber? Toe? sits more on outer side of tire.
-driver side sag
-height of control arm seems a bit too close to inner fender compared to passenger side.
-steering wheel is positioned to 11 o'clock when wheels are driving straight

Again I inspected some of the bushings that I can see and they have normal wearing and tear but are not hanging by threads.

Pics tomorrow.

Re: control arm bushing?

100% stock parts. And those dont typically wear out. The have very little actual pressure on them due to the double wishbone design of the suspension.
