Newest project!!

Hey pz! I've made a big decision lol....I sold my old 4th gen lude and got me another 4th gen lol sounds crazy but here's the story.... I had my 95 lude since november of 2010 it was a project lol it was all black had some ugly 17's and had a swapped h22a4 not fully converted to obd1 I decided to work with it but had very little lude knowledge at the time so I started with a no name intake chipped p28 and a maaco paint job the front end was not proper aligned due to a previous accident body show was gonna charge up the $&@ to get it back to normal so I decided to sell it and hunt for a new one I ended getting $3250 for my lude and buying this new one for $2500 this luxe has a stock h22a1 it's a 93 and body is flawless aside from paint this one has way more potential and is gonna save me so much that I woulda spent on my other one for nothing but here it is...did I make a good deal lol

Here's a glimps of my old one lol

Here's the new one!!

After I put on dc headers...engine needs a cleaning lol

Well colors...I'm thinking of a nice electric blue but a nice costly paintjob this time no cheap cop outs lol.....and as for mods engine is a bit old and worn so I might go with swapping...h22a and my tranny grinds a bit so I might go m2b4 lsd but it's still up in the air lol

220 is a little harsh...with the straight body you already have I'd just scuff it with 600 right before paint, tape it off, wipe it down, and spray it on....I'm no paint and body guy, but 8yrs after the paint I put on my last 'lude it still looks good.

Cool...so when sanding you don't need to remove every single
Piece of paint/primer?...I'm sanding and I have like 3 different colors like a beige primer grey looking primer and the flat black paint

correct...kinda. like I said before, I'm not a paint & body guy, but from my personal experience, no, you dont need to take it all down to primer & bare metal.

First off, prep work is the key to a good paint job. If you don't put the time in on the prep, the final will only turn out that good. I took a week off, and did all the prep/body/primer work on my old car to get it ready...and could've used another day, but I was learning as I was going.

You want at least similar colors on your primer...if your car is mostly black, use a black or grey primer on those beige areas. Those drastic color changes can show through your paint, and you wont want that. I've heard both ways that not to paint over rattlecan paint/primer, or its OK. I used rattle can "filler/primer" in my spots on the last car...worked fine for me.

Here's how mine turned out, from this:

To this:

Research up, and post some in the "appearance" forum, I'm sure there are some paint/body guys lurking around in here that may have some more insight.
