Icon5 NEED HELP WITH EL GAUGE CLUSTER O.O

Ok.. So, I've read multiple threads and diy's and such on this, but non quite answer my question.

My car:
93 type S, Automatic. Automatic.. I know...

I have:
1: EL Gauge Cluster, with inverter box connected.
2: 94-96 Dimmer module. *Make note that: This is not the switch that you control the lights with next to the moonroof switch and cruise control switch. It's a Dimmer module mounted in the white housing on your passenger side right next to your Fuel/Temp cluster.*
3: Wire harness that goes through the dash connecting to the EL Cluster, moonroof, dimmer, cruise, fuel, temp, clock, etc..(From 94-96 I got the El Cluster from).

On one side of the harness "the drivers side/left side" it has the 2 grey plugs, and 1 blue plug. They fit directly into the connectors by the fuse box inside I took the old harness out of.

I move up a little, and connect the Moonroof, Cruise, and Dimmer..

I now connect the El Gauge Cluster to its original harness plugs. (the 3 greens and 1 yellow).

Move right some more and connect the Cluster: Fuel, Temp, Clock, etc.

Move right again, and connect the Resistor surrounded in the white housing. "looks like a big relay". **UPDATE** I'm told that this is the dimmer module, and you need this from the car you got all the other stuff from, so the El Gauge Cluster will work properly.**

past the tweeter wires...

We now come to the last 3 plugs of the original 94-96 El Gauge Cluster harness. 3 grey plugs.. (One Plug has: 19 wires) (Second Plug has: 4 wires) and (Third Plug has: 3 wires)

***This is where we come to my problem***
I only have the option to plug in the (19 Wire Plug) into the connector on the mounting box. The other two connectors aren't there, like they were on the prelude I got the El Gauge Cluster and harness from.
Is it hidden/taped somewhere I have to find it?
Everything else plugs in up to this point.

I'm not sure if the other connectors aren't needed, and all I use is the one that the (19 Wire Plug) fits in to, "along with splicing other wires into it". Because all the threads say how to wire it up, **but they don't mention if it's with the stock harness, or the original El Gauge Cluster harness from a 94-96.**

Thank you for any advice, I know this has been posted before, this is just to clarify for others that might have the same situation as I do.

********Pictures of the harness wire up would be excellent!!!!!!********

And I can provide pictures of my issue if needed. "Just a picture of the connector being missing where I stated".

Thank you so much, in advance.

***UPDATE*** Here is a picture of my problem... (stolen from LilMsPrelude..)

The Connector on the left, (marked red), I don't have on my mounting box. Only the connector, (marked green) which the (19 wire plug) plugs in to is there on my prelude. Is the connector (marked red) still in my car somewhere? Just taped back somewhere? Can I make this El Gauge Cluster swap work without it? Using only the connector (marked green)?

Re: NEED HELP WITH EL GAUGE CLUSTER O.O

Yeah, maybe I should know this too before cracking my dash open. Not trying to thread jack here, but is the 2.3 cluster the el also or is it just the 2.2 vtech cluster?

Re: NEED HELP WITH EL GAUGE CLUSTER O.O

All I had to do to make this work was connect all the plugs into everything they're suppose to connect to, except for two plugs on the passenger side/right side. I connected the (19 wire plug) and grounded the black wire on the (3 wire plug). And that's all, if you have the El cluster harness, invertor box, and dimmer module.

Sooo.. I have it hooked up now, and before I mounted everything into the dash and mounted all the clusters and such everything worked perfect. The switch to control the light brightness worked, but now it's a lil more complicated.
For example: I turn the car on, and the Fuel/Temp cluster slowly creeps on and lights up as if it's dimmed now(like right below max brightness). And when I scroll down on the light dimmer, (It clicks), and the Fuel/Temp cluster goes out completely. And when I turn the light dimmer back up, the Fuel/Temp cluster lights up again, but not completely. Even though the switch is all the way turned up.
Even my climate control lights, and shift lights and such seem to be dimmer. **But the clock stays the same brightness NO MATTER WHAT** **The Clock Will Not Dim**
And Also.. The Speedo is reading 6mph faster than what my gps reads, and I didn't have this problem with the other Speedo Cluster.
And I can't reset the trip time. Only if the car is turned off, then back on it resets.

Again, this swap is with the El Cluster Original Wire Harness that was in the 94-96 prelude "Plug and play harness".
I connected the Dimmer module
I connected all the plugs
And I grounded the black wire off the (3 wire plug) to make the turn signals work properly, and they do.

It's just weird how it all worked perfect until I mounted the plastic covering over the clusters. It seems as if i must have crammed it all in there, and something came loose. So tomorrow I'm going to take it out.... again.... and play around with it till it works again, and leave the car on while i mount everything so if something goes wrong, I'll see what's causing it.

If anyone else has any ideas as of to what might be causing the problem, I'd greatly appreciate some feedback. I'll be checking all my posts once I wake up, hoping for some help.

Thanks, so much.

Did you get the dimmer relay from the donor car? Meaning the dimmer relay that is mounted in the white box on the right side of the dash. They are different from the non el cluster version and is needed for the dash lights to work properly.

Yeah, I have the Dimmer module from the car i got everything else from, it all worked fine when it was in the other car, the 94-96. I had it working fine in mine, but now it's acting up a little.

Oh, I figured out, to reset your trip time, you have to hold the knob in, not just push it. So, the trip time works fine, and it actually doesn't reset when i turn the car off then back on.

I just need to still figure out the rest of my problems listed above.

Re: NEED HELP WITH EL GAUGE CLUSTER O.O

Clock doesn't work anymore too. I'm thinking my problem is that I'm using the same Fuel/temp cluster from the 94-96 lude I got everything else from. maybe they're wired differently, cause when i scroll down on the dimmer switch and (it clicks down from max setting) the fuel/temp cluster now light up max, almost like it's reversed now.. Maybe if I swap out my Fuel/temp cluster that I had before, everything will work fine..
And, speedo still reads 6mph faster than it should be. and the rpm is at idle above 1k on the gauge, when my other cluster was exactly on 1k when at idle.

Re: NEED HELP WITH EL GAUGE CLUSTER O.O

I have most of it working perfect now, except the speedometer still reads 6mph faster, along with the rpm problem. But, it all dims they way it should with the dimmer switch, and all. All I did was take it out, and put the old Fuel/Temp cluster back in, just incase, after tightend all the connections. Works great now.
