Cam help

I've heard of people putting B series cams in their h22, but would the same work for the h23? Also, are cam gears interchangeable too?

Re: Cam help

HahaBAHAHah re-read it buddy.

"Some argue that skunk2 cams are specifically for "B" series engines because you can make them rev all the way up to 10K"

that says nothing of putting B series cams on H22.

It says "if you want more peak power (like myself). Skunk2 starts shining in the higher rpms. Some argue that skunk2 cams are specifically for "B" series engines because you can make them rev all the way up to 10K. Yes this is true. But if you want to more power up top, I would go with the skunk2's for that same reason. You want to raise the redline anyways righ? :) "

No where does it say "You can put B series cams into an h22" it says basically that all skunk2 cams are good to rev up to 10k rpms, like a b series motor.

If you want to be stupid and buy it go ahead but you have already had people who know a lot about preludes tell you it is not possible, listen to them.

It's possible. Don't listen to these fools. Just buy em' and pop em' in, they're only like $700. I used them in my AWD mid-engined H22 Cavalier.

Re: Cam help

Yeah it was sick. Once I cut a huge hole in the front bumper and filled it in with chicken wire, all bets were off.

Also, when I think about it now, I think it was the giant Jeg's sticker in the back window that helped me brake the 10 second barrier.

*sigh* I miss that car.

It's all good. Trust people here when they tell you that you can't use a B-series cam in an H-series motor.

ok, here's one (not to get too off topic, hopefully just a simple fix);

i took my sub and amp outta my lude when they were working, put them into my STi, and now the amp isn't getting power.
its getting juice TO the amp (tested w/ a DMM), but the amp isn't turning on.
but something that's weird.... when i touch the power cable to the chassis, it SHOULD spark out, but it doesn't

Re: Cam help

i would say check the remote wire on on your deck its the solid blue wire sometimes it needs to be hooked up too the blue with white stripe and of course hooked up to your amp as well that not hooked up in some cars will cause the amp to not turn on even though it has power

Okay, you have tested the power cable with a dmm at the amp and your seeing 12+v right? If that's the case then if the power cable accident hit against the chassis, because I know somebody wouldn't do that purposely, and it didn't spark doesn't mean anything. If if the amp doesn't turn on and you know there is power AT the amp and the remote turn on lead had 12+v because you checked them with a dmm and where you have the ground hooked up has all of the paint removed from it then it very well could be the amp.

Blue with a white stripe is remote turn on lead, solid blue is the power antenna.

Re: Cam help

If you take your amp and hook it straight to your batt + and straight to your batt - then take a jumper lead from the + on your amp to the remote turn on and the amp doesn't light up then you have a dud amp.

Nick, see if it works when you listen to the radio.

And to the OP....I can see how that passage from the thread can be misleading and after I read it a couple times, it makes no sense that they
would even bring up the B-series. ?????????

Probably because the B series revs like a mofo and the Skunk 2 cams rev like a mofo! lol

Read above, it doesn't have the wrong info in it. If you read the post again and actually think then you should understand it.
